Table of Contents
June is fast approaching despite what the Canadian weather might lead you to believe. So, it is only natural that many of you are finding it difficult to get through the work day without your mind drifting off to summer holiday plans. Well, if that is the case, have we got the recommendations for you!
Planning what may well be your first Summer break in three years is unfortunately more complicated than ever before. The pandemic is a lessening burden however, it is certainly still bubbling away under the surface. So, to make things easy, our recommendations will be for countries with no remaining restrictions:
1 | Greece
Nothing quite screams forgetting the struggles of the last few years like a Greek adventure this summer holiday! With Covid restrictions well in the rear-view, there aren’t many better options to satisfy your inner wanderlust with rich culture, idyllic beaches, amazing historical sites and sumptuous foods a plenty. Island hopping is an essential part of any Greek experience and accessing these islands by boat is an absolute necessity. Combine your time exploring the Mediterranean with the cultural and historical wonders of Athens and you have yourself a perfectly balanced break.
All travellers, regardless of their country of origin, can enter Greece without having to provide COVID-19 proof – a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate – upon their arrival.
2 | Dominican Republic
The next couple of months is absolutely the best time to visit this beautiful island paradise! Beat the high-season prices with an early summer holiday and relax in the most geographically diverse of the Caribbean Islands. The Dominican showcases everything from rainforests and mountain ranges to mangroves and semi-deserts. There really is something for everyone, with a stunning array of boutique hotels, sprawling golf courses, all-inclusive hotels, mountain biking, windsurfing, climbing and endless stretches of pearly white sand, towering palm trees and glassy seas.
Official Covid Requirements
As of April 23, 2022, all travellers do not need to present a COVID-19 Vaccination Card, PCR, or antigen test to enter the Dominican Republic or to enter tourist centres, any establishments or to receive services such as excursions. Random COVID-19 testing upon arrival in the Dominican Republic will no longer be performed.
3 | Costa Rica
The pandemic has had such an impact on all of our lives over the past few years, and when thinking about a destination to inspire and cleanse the soul, two words comes to mind; Pura Vida. Costa Rica is the perfect choice for those seeking a little adventure, rejuvenation and much deserved relaxation. It’s the kind of destination that truly soothes the soul, providing so many opportunities to be as active or relaxed as you so please. The list of outdoor adventures is dizzying; Hiking, white water rafting, surfing, zip lining, to name a few. But nothing beats kicking back in a hammock at the end of the day, to simply breathe the fresh air and admire the awe-inspiring scenery. The lush rainforests and wildlife will captivate you, and the calm, welcoming nature of the locals will warm your heart. Costa Rica is the perfect getaway to unleash your travelling spirit once again!
